John Hickey


Pastor John grew up on Long Island, New York. He is an avid movie buff with favorites including: Forrest Gump, Shawshank Redemption, Lars and the Real Girl, Harvey, and anything by Alfred Hitchcock. He stills holds strong to his NY sports roots hoping one day to see the Mets win the World Series. 

Pastor John graduated from Wittenberg University in 2004 with a degree in Religion and from Trinity Lutheran Seminary in 2008 with an MDiv. Pastor John received the call from Trinity Lutheran, Goshen, in August 2008 following his graduation from Seminary. In March 2014, he received a call from Faith Lutheran, Goshen.  

John met his wife Andrea while at Seminary in Columbus, Ohio. They were married before going on his internship in 2006 and both graduated from Seminary in 2008.  On May 14, 2012. Micah John was born. John and Andrea brought him home from the hospital and officially adopted him a few months later.

Jessica King


Born and raised in Castalia, Ohio Pastor Jes found her niche within the church at a young age as she attended church camp each summer, participated in leadership development programs, and was involved with the Northwest Ohio Synod LYO board throughout high school.

Pastor Jes graduated from Wittenberg University in 2006 with a major in Religion with an Art minor and from Trinity Lutheran Seminary in 2010 with a Master of Divinity. She was ordained in August of 2010 and served at Resurrection Lutheran in Madison, Indiana before coming to Faith Lutheran in November 2014. She is the Pastor of Youth, Young Adult, and Family Ministry at Faith.

Pastor Jes loves spending time with her family and friends, capturing the imperfectly perfect moments of life through photography, expressing herself creatively, and watching Ohio State football.  She also enjoys snuggling with her cats Brutus and Margo.

Dena Deal

Communications Coordinator

Dena is passionate about her family, wellness, sports and music.  She is a long time member of Faith Lutheran, confirmed in 1988 shortly after her family moved to Goshen.  Dena and her husband Matt have adult children: Connor, who is married to Mackenzie and Carson who is a student at Purdue University.  They spoil their three dogs, Sophie, Gizmo and Georgia.  She enjoys any activity with her family and friends, and especially likes to spend time out of doors.  

Dena's Organizational Leadership and Management degree is from Bethel College.  She joins the Faith staff with previous experience in healthcare, education, elder care and working with individuals who are differently abled, specifically those on the autism spectrum.

'And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.'


Jennifer Anglin

Choir Accompanist

Jennifer grew up in the Topeka area and graduated from Valparaiso University with majors in secondary education and history. She later became a paramedic but now works for Purdue as a healthcare advisor. She received her Master's in Health Science, concentration Public Health in 2017.

She loves spending time with her husband, Mike. They enjoy walking with their German Shepherd and watching old movies. She also loves spending time with family, snuggling with their 2 cats, music, doing genealogy research, and making strange jams and jellies.

Michele Murto

Choir Director

Michele grew up in Upstate New York. She graduated from Goshen College with a BA in Music Education in 1977. Her career path changed however in 1980 when she was offered the position of Probation Officer at a local Court in Goshen. She remained with the Court as Chief Probation Officer for 32 years retiring in 2012.

Michele met her husband, Richard, at Goshen College and were married in 1978 at First English. They have two grown children, William and Sarah. 

She is a chartered member of the Lake Area Community Band for 30 years. She has the honors of playing first chair clarinet with the band.  In 1989 she auditioned to play with the Grace College Community Wind Ensemble. She has been with band since that time and is currently the Concertmaster for the band.

Michele loves all music genres but her favorites are classical and southern gospel.  In her free time she enjoys working out at the gym, antiquing, reading and cruising the Caribbean with her sister.

Her favorite Bible verse is Psalm 98:1a - "Oh sing to the Lord a new song for he has done marvelous things."
